Best Buy will carry two of the hottest devices out this holiday shopping season – the Kindle Fire and the Barnes & Noble NOOK Tablet.

The new Kindle Fire will be available at all Best Buy and Best Buy Mobile stores beginning Tuesday, November 15 where customers will be able to touch, test, try and buy the device. NOOK Color Gets Mighty Eagle via Angry Birds Location-Based "Magic Places"

Barnes & Noble bookstores are the first official Angry Birds "Magic Places," giving NOOK Color customers exclusive in-game rewards and unlockables. Starting today, NOOK Color customers with the Angry Birds NOOK App can add the Mighty Eagle character to their game at no cost when playing the game in a Barnes & Noble bookstore.

NOOK Color owners simply need to walk into a Barnes & Noble store and connect to its Wi-Fi network. The Mighty Eagle character will become automatically available once the user is logged in. This is the first time that Angry Bird's "Magic Places" location-based feature has been put to use.

Store visitors will also find a selection of Angry Bird-themed games, toys and merchandise, and in the coming days, free Angry Birds stickers and temporary tattoos, while supplies last.

NOOK for Android App Gets Another Update

Barnes & Noble on Friday announced an updated version of its free NOOK for Android eReading app. It now includes more than 140 top magazine and newspaper brands - the largest digital newsstand offering for Android tablets to date - from ESPN The Magazine and The Economist to Food & Wine and Us Weekly. In addition, to take advantage of large, high-resolution Android tablet screens, NOOK for Android now offers customers an optimized library grid view, enhanced book margins and line spacing, as well as an improved shopping experience. The new app features are available for 7-inch and larger tablets using Android OS 2.1 and higher (Honeycomb).
