Panasonic this week announced a new full HD home theater projector, the PT-AE40000U. Designed for home theater enthusiasts, this LCD home theater projector has 1080p resolution with 1,600 lumen brightness and 100,000:1 contrast ratio.
The projector features an enhanced Intelligent Lens Memory that lets you program up to six different zoom/focus positions, VIERA Link, and programmable 12V triggers. It includes three HDMI inputs. Also, with its signal aspect detection capability, the projector can automatically switch between movie theater (2.35:1) and 16:9 aspect ratio.

Best Buy wants to know what old, outdated technology you have in your house. The company just announced a photo contest where you can win a home theater makeover by showing them your outdated home technology. Dubbed the "Scary Technology" contest, you can enter to win by submitting your photos, along with a 140-character description to www.ScaryTechnology.com.
The contest runs until October 26, 2009, with the winner being announced on Halloween. The Grand Prize winner will receive a $3,500 Insignia Home Theater makeover including GeekSquad installation. The first runner-up will win a $1,500 Best Buy Gift Card, while the second prize winner will receive a $1,000 Best Buy gift card.

It seems that everywhere you look, there is a new Android device hitting the marketplace. Not to be outdone by T-Mobile's line-up, Sprint just announced that the Samsung Moment handset on the Android platform will be available on November 1, 2009.
Featuring built-in Google mobile services, such as Google Search, Google Maps, Gmail and YouTube, the Samsung Moment has a 3.2-inch AMOLED touch-screen and is powered by an 800 MHz processor.Read more
If you've always wanted to take your television viewing on-the-go (on something larger than a cell phone screen), this new device might get your interest. The FLO TV Personal Television is a dedicated device that will let you watch your favorite TV programming while you're out and about.
The device receives live and time-shifted content over the FLO TV dedicated multicast network with no buffering, downloading or waiting to view content. It features a 3.5-inch diagonal screen and measures 4.4 inches by 3 inches by .5 inches and weighs a little over 5 ounces. The FLO TV Personal Television has a touch-screen for navigation and includes a built-in stand, built-in stereo speakers, and the ability to set reminders for your favorite programming.
There is a catch though…not only do you have to purchase the device for $249.99, but to watch TV programming, you will have to pay a monthly service fee, which starts at $8.99 per month. The company says it will be available in time for the holiday season.

Sprint and Samsung announced that the Samsung Intrepid Windows smartphone will be available at Sprint stores on October 11, 2009.
Samsung Intrepid runs on Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional and has a customizable Today screen to display the features that you access the most, such as new emails, text messages, missed calls, etc. And, the Intrepid is the first device to offer Microsoft's Tellme, which lets you dial a contact, compose a text message and search the Web by using just your voice. Logic Wireless is unveiling its 2nd generation projector phone, the Logic Bolt 1.5, today at the 2009 Fall CTIA Wireless conference. They introduced the first projector phone back in January 2009, the Logic Bolt 1.0. It was a GSM Quadband handset with an integrated pico projector capable of projecting phone content on any surface 60"+.
The new Logic Bolt 1.5 is much smaller than the 1.0 and the software and OS have been upgraded, the company says.

AT&T and HTC just announced the upcoming availability of the HTC Tilt 2 and the HTC PURE with Windows Mobile 6.5. The HTC PURE is a compact touch screen smartphone and the HTC Tilt 2 has a tilting touch screen and a slide out full QWERTY keyboard.
Both phones feature the TouchFLO 3D interface on a large touch screen and provide full access to voice, text, or email in a single contact view, regardless of whether voice, text or email was used. This view can be accessed from the contact card or in the in-call screen during a phone conversation.
HTC Tilt 2 -
The HTC Tilt 2 features a 3.6-inch widescreen WVGA display which can be tilted, and a QWERTY keyboard. For speakerphone use, it includes dual speakers and dual microphones with advanced noise cancellation, and HTC's Straight Talk for conference calling. The speakerphone can be activated by simply turning over the device. The HTC Tilt 2 also features a 3.2 megapixel camera.
