Also presented at the CEDIA show this year was Custom Retailer magazine's Excite Award. This award also recognizes companies and their products for excellence in custom installed technologies and electronics and specifically pay tribute to the products that best exemplify the excitement and growth of the custom and consumer electronics industries.

TechLiving magazine selects winners each year for the Top 50 Products of 2004 to be featured in their November issue and the Top Choice Award is given annually by the editors at DVD ETC. magazine to acknowledge outstanding technological innovation and value for the money.

In addition, out of hundreds of entries submitted, the editors of Electronic House Publishing votes and selects seventy-five best new products for 2004. "There are many new products that deserve recognition, but we have to limit ourselves in order to fit the list into the magazine," said Cindy Davis, Editor-in-Chief, Electronic House and Home Electronic Ideas Magazines. "Our decisions are based on reviews we ran throughout the year, product demos, and talking with users of the products."

Topping our list of criteria is technological innovation, combined with overall value and just plain outstanding features. "We also want to make sure that the products mentioned are available.," added Davis.

"We are extremely pleased to receive five distinguished awards this year recognizing our leadership in both the custom professional and consumer retail markets," said Doug Cole, Vice President, Universal Remote Control. "It is also an honor to be selected by magazines that are well respected in the industry and that specialize in reporting on technology quality and innovation."

The Home Theater Master MX-3000 PC Programmable IR/RF Color Touch Screen and companion MRF-200 RF Base Station is an ultra slim and ultra light deceptively powerful and sophisticated remote control system designed for custom professionals. It is capable of controlling 255 devices in a single group, with up to 255 pages of commands for each device. It offers such advanced features as support for simultaneous macro events, a dynamic status display, variable tracking, and non-directional RF whole-house control.

The Customizer (URC-300), URCs flagship remote control will significantly advance the market for retailers and consumers alike. It has been engineered to meet the needs of home entertainment enthusiasts who require top-tier performance to command their increasingly complex entertainment systems at a fraction of the cost of those professional devices. In fact, at a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $200.00, the Customizer helps create and define a new price/performance niche -- one that will become increasingly important to the overall home theater electronics industry.

The Customizer universal and learning remote can control up to 15 devices and incorporates a touch screen LCD panel as well as hard buttons making it comfortable to navigate and user-friendly. In addition to enormous one-touch macro capability, punch through operation and favorite channel buttons, the Customizer transmits both IR and RF signals, making whole-house operation (indoors and outdoors, through cabinets, walls and doors) of out-of-sight A/V components possible by adding the optional Expander? MRF-100 RF receiver base station. Equipped with a Quick Setup DVD, programming the Customizer is simple!
