Toshiba Adds LCD TV/DVD Models to Product Line

May 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Building on its market leadership in TV combination products, Toshiba America Consumer Products, L.L.C. today announced the introduction of two new LCD TV/DVD combination products. To continue the momentum announced at CES 2004 with the SD-P5000, the SD-P4000 and SD-P7000 will combine Toshiba's award winning technology and the latest in enhanced product cosmetics. The SD-P7000 marks a significant step forward as it combines high definition capabilities with flat screen elegance.

All models are set for introduction this summer. The SD-P7000 TV/DVD offers consumers a 17" LCD TV with a 16x9 high definition screen with 1280x768 pixel resolution -- perfect for viewing high definition, standard television signals and DVD movies. The SD-P4000 offers a 14" 4x3 LCD screen with 640x480 pixel resolution. Both models incorporate a built-in slot loading, progressive scan DVD player, adding to the product's intuitive design.

All models offer additional features including 3-line Digital Comb Filters, Component video inputs (SD-P4000 = 480i/480p; SD-P7000 =480i/480p/720p/1080i) and VESA Mounting holes. The SD-P7000 offers an RGB PC Input with Mini Audio.

The SD-P5000 offers consumers an integrated 15" LCD TV with a 4x3 high- resolution (1024 x 768) screen, combined with a DVD player in an innovative design. The LCD display's double hinge design allows for multiple placement options for either a tabletop or wall mounting with VESA compliant 100mm hole configuration. Designed for the home or mobile use, this model offers an optional battery pack.

Toshiba also showcased its complete line of TV combination models. Toshiba's all- inclusive line offers superior engineering capabilities, new features and enhanced cosmetic designs. The highlight of its extensive line-up of TV combination products are two new TV/DVD/VCR models, the MW24FPX and the MW27FPX, offering flat screens with FST PURE(R) flat tube design, 3-line Digital Comb Filters and progressive scan playback for DVD discs.

All Toshiba Tri-Play TV/DVD/VCR models (MW24FPX, MW27FPX, MW20FP1, MW24FP1 and MW27FP1) are available now and offer superior audio/video performance with advanced DVD-Video players, four-head Hi-Fi VCRs, and stereo TVs.

In addition to its award winning Tri-Play models, Toshiba also has the broadest line-up of TV/DVD combination models. All models are currently available, including models MD9DP1, MD13P1, MD14FP1, MD20P1, MD20FP1 and MD24FP1. The entire 2004 TV combination line features the new Picture Preference Mode. This feature offers customizable picture quality by providing four selections (standard, sports, movie, and memory) to optimize the viewing experience. The MD14FP1, MD20FP1 and the new MD24FP1 feature FST PURE(R) flat tube designs for improved picture quality. The FST PURE(R) screen provides greater edge detail and a wider viewing angle so viewers can sit practically anywhere in a room and still enjoy a crystal clear image.

In the TV/VCR category, the 13"MV13P2 and the 20" MV20P2 also feature the Picture Preference Mode and a new icon based graphical user interface.
