TiVo Expands Retail Distribution

Aug. 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- TiVo (NASDAQ:TIVO) announced today a plan to expand retail distribution for the TiVo Series2 Digital Video Recorder (DVR), offering additional consumer choice. The company expects to add both regional and national outlets on a limited basis before the holiday selling season. TiVo announced today the addition of The Good Guys! and Abt Electronics.

Earlier in the year TiVo launched the Series2 DVR via an exclusive partnership with Best Buy. Best Buy was instrumental in launching Series2 and will continue to be strongly committed to the category and a major distribution partner for TiVo moving forward.

"As we looked towards the holiday selling season, we decided to expand our distribution, offering consumers additional choice in where they purchase our Series2 DVR. At the same time, we expect to extend our relationship with Best Buy, who has established themselves as a leader in this category," said Brodie Keast, senior vice president and general manager for the TiVo Service. "We expect to announce additional retail partners in the coming weeks," Keast added.

TiVo Series2 DVRs are expected to be available at additional retailers in the coming weeks.
