SIRIUS Sponsors Edwin McCain’s National ‘Austin Sessions’ Tour

March 19, 2003 - SIRIUS today announced its sponsorship of platinum-selling recording artist Edwin McCain's national tour and support of his new album, The Austin Sessions.

Singer-songwriter Edwin McCain is a South Carolina native whose style has roots in folk, pop, rock and soul music. McCain's Austin Sessions Tour, which kicked off March 2nd, follows the February 25th release of The Austin Sessions, McCain's first largely-acoustic CD, which features the new single "Let It Slide". The CD also features a selection of McCain's favorite covers, including Dire Straits' "Romeo & Juliet," Eric Hamilton and Jeff Armstrong's "Popcorn Box," and Bruce Creighton's "Island Song".

McCain fans can hear selections from The Austin Sessions as well as reports from the tour by tuning into SIRIUS' adult alternative music stream The Trend, stream 18, throughout the tour.

"I am thrilled to have the chance to partner with SIRIUS on my new tour and look forward to future projects with them," said Edwin McCain. "Their commitment to remaining artist-friendly and music-driven is entirely refreshing and encouraging in this day and age."

"Edwin McCain is an accomplished songwriter, performer and musician," said Carol Yumkas, Vice President of Entertainment Business Development for SIRIUS. "We look forward to being a part of his continued success. He creates music that forms an important bond with listeners, and presenting music with that kind of impact is important to SIRIUS."

The Austin Sessions Tour runs through June 5 and comes to SIRIUS' home base, New York City, on March 28. For additional tour dates and information, visit www.SIRIUS.com and www.edwin.com.
