Runco Projectors and HD Plasma Monitors Showcased in NextGen Home
December 2004 — Runco International, Inc., the world leader in high-end home theater video display technology, is proud to announce a partnership with the NextGen Home 2005 Project. Three high profile members of the Runco product lineup: the VX-2c Projection System, the CW-42HD flat screen plasma monitor, and the CW-50mc widescreen display monitor will be showcased in four separate NextGen homes, which will tour the United States throughout 2005. The first one makes its debut at the Consumer Electronics Show in January; the second one at the International Builders Show a week later; then the third one at the National Association of Broadcasters Show in April, and finally the last one at the Kitchen & Bath Show in May. Each NextGen Home will feature a slight different variation on the theme of showcasing the most advanced, cutting edge technology in home building and home entertainment installations.
“We are very proud to be a part of the 2005 NextGen Home Project,” said Bob Hana, President of Runco International, Inc. “Our picture perfect products fit perfectly in a NextGen Home environment and the four different venues where the homes will be on display will give us a great opportunity to showcase our award winning products to a broad audience.”
The VX-2c and the CW-42HD will be featured in all four NextGen Homes, while the CW-51mc will be on display in all but the International Builders Show Home. The VX-2c breaks new ground among DLP projectors by offering a 3-chip configuration with 16:9 (1280 x 720) native resolution for home theater applications. As the first consumer projector manufacturer licensed by Texas Instruments for DLP, Runco and its engineers built the projector’s optical light engine around 3 of TI’s HD-2 Digital Micromirror Devices, eliminating the need for a color wheel–reducing mechanical complexity–and achieving superior clarity, color saturation, and contrast. The system won the Custom Retailer 2004 Excite Award.
The CW-42HD is a state-of-the-art HDTV ready, flat-panel plasma display monitor that offers a resolution of 1024 x 768 with a 16:9 aspect ratio. It is also one of the few high definition plasma display products capable of high altitude performance, being high altitude compliant to 9,000 feet. This new model also features an anti-glare filter for diffusing direct light sources, making images easier to view under adverse lighting conditions.
For the CW-50mc monitor, Runco incorporates ViViX processing onto a modular card for the first time. This controller card contains all of the video processing circuitry necessary for superb image reproduction. The CW-50mc has a native resolution of 1280 x 768 to accommodate all HDTV sources with ease. Spectacular picture performance can be viewed at an angle as wide as 160 degrees. The flat chassis only measures 4-1/2 inches deep, making it an attractive addition to any fashionable living or play room.
