June 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc. today unveils its new line of digital entertainment equipment that provides unbeatable audio and video quality for use at home or on the go, including new DVD recorders that reinforce the company's leadership position in that category. For the first time ever, consumers can receive TiVo services in a DVD recorder, providing the perfect solution for both short-term storage of programming on a hard drive and long-term storage on DVD-R/RW discs. Coupled with the recently announced DVR-A06 DVD/CD writer offering multiple recording formats, Pioneer solidifies its position as the leader in recordable DVD.

Heads will spin with the introduction of Pioneer's next generation digital vinyl turntable, the CDJ-1000MK2, which adds a new mark of distinction to the company's innovations for professional and amateur DJs alike. The CDJ-1000MK2 has enhanced sound quality, a smoother jog dial and faster response than its predecessor, the extremely popular CDJ-1000. The next step in mobile entertainment will be showcased with in-car DVD-Audio. Pioneer's new mobile entertainment product line includes easy-to-use touch-screen capabilities for in-car navigation and audio/video as well as multi-channel DVD-Audio for the car.

Highlights of the new product offerings include:

DVD Recording: As one of the original developers of recordable DVD technology, Pioneer continues to provide innovations that make DVD recording an integral piece of the home theater system. An entry-level DVD recorder meets the needs of the average consumer who wants to replace their VCR permanently. Two combination DVD recorders with TiVo services cater to the true television aficionado with a desire to store programming on a hard drive temporarily and transfer that content to DVD for longer-term storage. A computer DVD/CD writer for creation of home movies and an industrial DVD recorder for video professionals round out the line.

Multi-Channel Audio: With roots in audio technology that go back to 1938, Pioneer is continually enhancing the listening environment to make it more dynamic and intense. Multi-channel sound from DVD-Audio and SACD are incorporated into more DVD players and home theater systems including entry level choices as well as the most feature-laden Pioneer Elite selections. Multi-channel audio is also making its way onto the road in the form of rear seat entertainment for the car.

Display Technology: A sneak peak at prototypes of next generation plasma displays will feature both Pioneer and Pioneer Elite branded PureVision high-definition plasma televisions with enhancements in image quality and electronics that are the result of six years experience developing and manufacturing these ultra-modern televisions. Floating racks designed to complement Pioneer's plasma televisions offer new options for consumers who want an easy solution for plasma display and wire management -- without hanging the plasma directly on the wall.

Digital Vinyl Turntable: The CDJ-1000, which convinced even hard-core vinyl enthusiasts to convert to CD, has become even better. The CDJ-1000MK2 -- or the Mark 2 -- offers the same features that made the original unit so popular, and adds to excellence with delay-free scratching, cue point, "wide" pitch control and an extra bright display.
