Easy-to-Use Software Turns Camcorder Tapes and Digital Pictures Into DVD Movies Sept. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Pinnacle Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: PCLE) announced today that it is shipping Pinnacle Express(TM), new software that makes it easy to convert home movies from video tapes into discs that can play on DVD players. Express automatically creates scene-index menus, allowing people to watch their favorite scenes without having to fast-forward and rewind tapes.

Pinnacle Express integrates video capture, automatic menu creation, CD and DVD burning in one easy-to-use package. With Express, video can be imported directly from a DV or Digital8 camcorder using a PC's FireWire interface or by dragging-and-dropping video files from the computer's hard disk into the application. Digital pictures and audio can also be imported into Express to create multimedia slideshows.

Pinnacle Express masks the complexity of developing a DVD video by automatically creating scene index menus for each scene in the video. Videos created with Express are automatically enhanced with interactivity. Viewers can jump to the scenes they want to see, repeat scenes or even freeze the action, all with their DVD player's remote control.

Users can also trim, split, combine, delete or re-order scenes within the menus. For professional-looking results, the software includes a variety of menu layouts and backgrounds plus the flexibility to type in a title for each scene. Transitions, music, narration, and special effects can also be added. Finished videos can be output on low-cost CD-R and CD-RW discs in the VideoCD or Super VideoCD format or on DVD-R discs in the DVD format.

Pricing and Availability
Pinnacle Express is available as standalone software product through select resellers for a special introductory price of $49. Pinnacle Express DV includes the Express software and a FireWire card and has a list price of $79.
