New TV/DVD/VCR Combo

Panasonic just introduced two new Triple Play TV/DVD/VCR combos that feature the Tau PureFlat TV. New models PV-DF2700 and PV-DF2000 feature the flat screen Tau PureFlat television, a DVD video player/CD player, a VCR, plus an FM radio and alarm clock.
Model PV-DF2000 features a 20-inch Tau PureFlat television screen, and has an MSRP of $899.95. The PV-DF2700 features a 27-inch inch Tau PureFlat screen, and has an MSRP of $1299.95.

The Panasonic Tau PureFlat picture tube is perfectly flat, so it delivers a distortion-free picture from corner to corner. Thanks to advanced Panasonic television technology, this high-quality set delivers outstanding picture quality with precise, brilliant color reproduction and extraordinary clarity. The three-line digital comb filter minimizes dot crawl and cross-color interference. Velocity modulated scan slows down the black and white portions of the video signal, resulting in sharp, dark-to-light transitions and crisp edge definition.

The PV-DF2700 features 2-tuner P-I-P (picture-in-picture). P-I-P inserts a smaller image onto the screen, allowing a viewer to monitor two programs – or to view a TV program and a DVD or videotape – simultaneously. Both models feature built-in stereo speakers.

Built-In DVD Player and Audio CD Player
The unique Triple Play combination features a high-quality DVD player that does double-duty as an audio CD player. The DVD format delivers brilliant, high-resolution video images - twice as sharp as a VHS tape - and theater-quality audio. Both Triple Play models are home theater ready, featuring outputs for surround sound audio. When connected to a Dolby Digital or dts decoder, users can enjoy exhilarating digital audio for a true theater-like experience. Additionally, the player features fast, smooth motion scan (in 5 speeds up to 100 times), picture zoom, and auto switching field/frame still. Depending on the content of the disc, users can select from up to 8 different language soundtracks, 32 subtitle languages, and multiple camera angles.

Built-In Simulated Surround Sound
With the Triple Play combos, even those who don’t have the room or the budget for a full surround sound system can enjoy the rich audio of movie soundtracks, thanks to the Panasonic simulated surround sound system. This feature creates a surround sound effect from the TV’s built-in stereo speakers.

Hi-Fi Stereo VCR
Panasonic makes VCR programming quick and easy, with the VCR Plus+feature. Just enter the PlusCode numbers (published in over 500 newspapers nationwide, as well as in TV Guide) for the programs you wish to record—and the VCR is automatically set! This high quality, four-head Hi-Fi VCR features Auto Clock Set (using the Extended Data Service signal carried by many PBS stations). In the event of a power outage, a back-up system will automatically reset the time and date within 24 hours.

Built-In Radio, Alarm Clock and More
For the ultimate in convenience, all of the Triple Play combo’s built-in components - including the FM radio - can be used with the clock timer function to turn on or off automatically. Users can fall asleep or wake up to the radio, television program, DVD disc or a video tape. Or they can opt to be awakened by a traditional alarm-clock beep. In fact, with Auto Clock Set, users can be assured they’ll be awakened on time – even if there’s a brief power outage during the night.

The Auto Gain Control feature maintains a uniform volume level when switching between the built-in components.

Front and rear A/V input jacks allow easy connection to other home theater components like receivers or decoders. A new, illuminated Light Tower remote control lights up for easy operation in darkened rooms.
