New Sharp Products Stimulate the Eyes and Ears
May 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Bringing the theater experience home is the theme at the Sharp Electronics Corporation showcase at this year's Home Entertainment Expo. Sharp will exhibit exciting new high-tech/high-style products in the display, audio and video categories, while also pairing together complementary products to demonstrate real-life applications. The Home Entertainment Expo marks the debut of new, consumer-priced models from Sharp, including additions to the 1-Bit digital audio amplification line and newly designed black AQUOS Liquid Crystal Televisions. In addition, SharpVision-branded products will be highlighted at the show, including new AQUOS models featuring PC card slot technology, the new 16:9 widescreen AQUOS TVs, High Definition Plasma Display Televisions and the industry-leading SharpVision DLP front projector.

Visitors to the Sharp booth will experience the unique, sleek and stylish design of Sharp's innovative products, including its luxury SharpVision-branded models, developed for specialty retailers. New products from Sharp will be showcased in multiple complete home theater settings, incorporating the best in high-end audio, video and display products paired together for the ultimate home entertainment experience.

High End Audio
- 1-Bit Personal Audio Systems (models SD-EX100 and SD-EX101). For the
first time ever, Sharp's revolutionary 1-Bit digital audio technology is
available in compact, consumer-priced audio systems. Utilizing a 1-Bit
digital amplifier for faithful and crisp sound reproduction that's
almost indistinguishable from the original source, the SD-EX100/101 are
ideal for those that appreciate high resolution sound in the home or
office. These stylish systems also boast a chic, half-mirror finish and
a pair of sleek 25 watt/channel speakers in black (SD-EX100) or silver
(SD-EX101). Both units will be available in July for an MSRP
(manufacturer's suggested retail price) of $499.95.
- 1-Bit Audio Home Theater Systems (models SD-AT100 and SD-SH111).
Combining crystal clear digital sound with a slim, sophisticated look,
these 1-Bit digital audio family home theater systems include a 1-Bit
digital audio amplifier plus a built-in DVD player, video CD and CD-
compatible player. Model SD-AT100 includes six speakers, while model
SD-SH111 is designed for pairing with custom speakers. Both models are
currently available for an MSRP of $1,799.95.
AQUOS Liquid Crystal Television
- New SharpVision AQUOS with PC Card Slot Technology in 15- and 20-inch
screen sizes (models LC-15B1U and LC-20B1U). Sharp is taking television
to the next level with the introduction of PC Card Slot models to its
renowned AQUOS line. The new AQUOS models feature built-in PCMCIA card
slots that are compatible with virtually any removable media card, for
viewing digital photographs in bright, vivid color right on the AQUOS
Liquid Crystal TV without being hooked up to a PC. The photos can then
be viewed individually, as a slide show, or in index view to display
nine pictures at once. It is now possible to view and share digital
photos by simply turning on the television and inserting a card into the
slot, enabling a whole room full of people to view them at once. The
LC-15B1U will be available in June for an MSRP of $1,699.95 and the
LC-20B1U is currently available for an MSRP of $2,699.95.
- New Black AQUOS Liquid Crystal Televisions in 13-, 15- and 20-inch
screen sizes (models LC-13B2UB, LC-15B2UB and LC-20B2UB). Sharp is
launching a stylish new line of 4:3 aspect ratio AQUOS models in black,
giving consumers more design options and extending the company's ongoing
commitment to provide top-of-the-line picture quality and stylish
televisions for any room in the home. Just like its silver
counterparts, the black line of AQUOS TVs have ASV panels with extremely
wide (170 degree) viewing angles, a high contrast ratio (500:1), Black
TFT coating for reduced glare, and a sleek, stylish design. The
LC-20B2UB is available now and the LC-13B2UB and LC-15B2UB will be
available in June. MSRPs are as follows: $1,199.95 for the LC-13B2UB,
$1,499.95 for the LC-15B2UB and $2,499.95 for the LC-20B2UB.
Additionally, the original silver models are available now with the same
specifications in the same screen sizes at corresponding MSRPs.
- New SharpVision 30-inch widescreen High Definition AQUOS Liquid Crystal
Television (LC-30HV2U). The LC-30HV2U is the first widescreen (16:9
aspect ratio) model from Sharp's AQUOS Liquid Crystal Television line.
The 30-inch AQUOS is HDTV-compatible, with WXGA display resolution. It
includes an Advanced Super View (ASV) panel with extremely wide
(170 degree) viewing angles, a high contrast ratio (500:1), Black TFT
coating for reduced glare, and a sleek, stylish design. A separate Audio
Video Computer (AVC) system with component video and a computer (PC)
input/outputs is also included to maximize performance and minimize
cable clutter. The LC-30HV2U is available now for an MSRP of $7,999.95.
SharpVision High Definition Plasma Display Televisions
- New 50- and 43-inch High Definition Plasma Televisions (models PZ-50HV2U
and PZ-43HV2U). These models offer the excitement of HDTV-capability,
widescreen viewing (16:9 aspect ratio), high brightness, a newly
developed panel, and a higher contrast ratio (an unprecedented 830:1).
In addition, a separate Audio Video Computer (AVC) system with component
video and computer (PC) input/outputs, as well as two NTSC TV tuners, is
included to maximize performance and minimize cable clutter. Model
PZ-50HV2U is available now for an MSRP of $13,999.95, and PZ-43HV2U is
available for an MSRP of $10,999.95.
SharpVision DLP Front Projection
- Home Theater Front Projector (model XV-Z9000U). Sharp is proud to
showcase its award-winning XV-Z9000U, the world's first single-panel,
DLP technology-enabled high definition (HD) front projector for home
theater. Designed exclusively for the home theater enthusiast, the
XV-Z9000U was engineered to provide both optimal performance and
convenient installation. This groundbreaking home theater product
incorporates Sharp's proprietary Computer & Video Integrated Composer
(CV-IC) technology with Texas Instruments DLP technology to provide
remarkably high-resolution imagery and brilliant clarity, delivering one
