New Affordable DVD + VCR From Go Video
DVR-4000 Features High Quality DVD Player and Four-Head
Hi-Fi VCR in One Integrated Product
May 11-- Sensory Science Corporation
yesterday announced the introduction of the new DVR-4000 from
Go-Video, an integrated DVD player and VCR in one product that offers
consumers a versatile, high quality, affordable home theater solution. This
unique product has complete versatility to play DVDs, audio and video CDs, and
VHS tapes, and users can watch a DVD while recording a TV program.
The DVR-4000 is the perfect convenience product for consumers who wish to convert their living rooms into home theaters without having to purchase multiple components, and provides users with the ability to upgrade to a DVD without losing the compelling features and versatility of a VCR.
Sensory Science was the first company to offer an integrated DVD + VCR product with last year's introduction of the DVR-5000, which was a huge success with retailers and consumers. The DVR-4000 incorporates Sensory Science's patented technology for Dual-Deck(TM) products, and additional patents on the product are pending.
"The success of last year's DVD + VCR product sent a clear message that consumers want an affordable, high performance, easy-to-use integrated product," said Paul Fredrickson, Sensory Science's executive vice president of marketing. "The DVR-4000 combines the versatility and convenience of a VCR with the advanced features and capabilities of a DVD player, offering a compelling home theater experience. Sensory Science has been a consistent leader in the introduction of integrated Dual-Deck(TM) consumer electronic and home theater products, and we believe the DVR-4000 will be another huge success."
DVR-4000 Features Dolby Digital and DTS Output
Utilizing next generation DVD technology based on the 2001 chassis, the DVR-4000 features a 10-bit video digital to analog converter and 27MHz advanced digital filter for a superior picture. The unit has the capability to play DVDs, Video CDs, and Super Video CDs. In addition, the DVR-4000 can play 96KHz/24-bit music DVDs as well as audio CDs, and users can also record non-copy protected DVDs to VHS at the touch of one button.
The DVR-4000 comes equipped with Dolby Digital output and DTS output for playback of Dolby and DTS-enhanced DVDs, and is equipped with component, S-Video, and composite video outputs for high connection flexibility and optimum performance. RF inputs and outputs located on the back of the unit allow for connections to both new and older model televisions, a feature not included on many DVD players.
Four-Head Hi-Fi MTS Stereo VCR Automatically Adjusts Tape Speed For Complete Program Recording
The Hi-Fi MTS stereo VCR seamlessly integrates with the DVD and contains four heads for superior slow motion and stop action control. The Complete Program Record feature, not found on other VCRs, automatically senses the end of the tape and adjusts the tape speed to ensure that the entire program is recorded.
The integrated DVD and VHS menus allow for easy on-screen programming, and the Auto-Clock Set and Channel Search capabilities make set-up simple and convenient. The VCR contains a 181-channel cable ready tuner with a 16-event/one-year timer. The front panel of the DVR-4000 contains a child lock that effectively "toddler-proofs" the unit, and the glow remote operates both the DVD and the VCR.
The DVR-4000 carries an MSRP of $349 and is scheduled to ship to retailers throughout the United States in June.
