Dual Introduces New Power Amps with Sex Appeal

August 2004 – Dual Electronics today announced two stunning additions to its selection of high performance mobile amplifiers, emphasizing excessive amounts of both sound and style with eagle-eye attention to operating efficiency.

“Dual’s new amps exemplify our credo to give consumers the maximum value for the price point,” said Robb Groner, Senior Product Manager for Namsung America, Inc., parent company of Dual Electronics. “Both of these new models represent serious upgrades over other amps retailing at similar price points, with power and good looks to spare.”

Mobile electronics are meant to be seen as well as heard, so Dual pulled out the stops by imbibing the XIA2340 and XIA2460 with a sleek, clean appearance, featuring recessed side and panel controls as well as integrated mounts in the heatsink itself. Both the XIA2340 and XIA2460 feature a bevy of cosmetic enhancements, including 12VDC outputs exclusively for use with Dual Electronics’ eye-catching illumiNITE speakers, subwoofers, and bandpass enclosures. However, their aesthetic appeal is matched by Dual’s commitment to provide advanced technology at high-value price points.

Dual’s technical prowess becomes obvious the moment these amps are switched on. The use of a PWM MOSFET power supply combines high efficiency with cooler operation for increased reliability. Two ohm stable stereo operation provides even greater power output - up to 300 watts RMS (XIA2460) with no overloads or dropouts.

A heavyweight die-cast aluminum heatsink design provides consistently cool operation, even during prolonged periods of use. In addition, direct wire input terminals ensure no additional terminals are needed.

Both the XIA2340 and XIA2460 are CEA-2006 Compliant. By following this new guideline, Output Power and Signal-to-Noise ratio numbers are more accurate than those offered by previously accepted rules. The XIA2340 and XIA2460 will ship in September 2004, at suggested retail prices of $129.95 and $159.95, respectively.
