Best Stereo Radio/CD player/Alarm Clock: Cambridge Soundworks Model 88CD

Cambridge SoundWorks 88CD This Bose -killer has an AM/FM Stereo/CD player and a two-alarm clock. The 88CD extends the bass response of its two full-range speakers on the front panel with an internal powered subwoofer that pushes its level of sound quality far beyond that of even the best boomboxes (or even rack systems). It's downright amazing to hear this small, unassuming table radio literally fill the room with warm, musical sound - close your eyes and you'll swear you're listening to a full-sized component system.
The Model 88CD comes with a small membrane-keypad remote control about the size of a credit card that gives you full command of the CD player, AM/FM tuner, and dual-alarm clock radio. For an even bigger sound, the 88CD has a switchable "Wide" mode that electronically processes the stereo audio so that the speakers sound as if they're spread wider apart, like a real audiophile rig. Boomboxes are fine for the beach or on the go, but if you've got one planted in your office, bedroom, or kitchen, it's time to reward yourself with vastly better sound from the Cambridge SoundWorks Model 88CD. $350.
