CDA-7878 Improves CDR Sound Quality Through Compressed Media Enhancement Technology Aug. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Alpine Electronics of America, Inc., the industry-leading manufacturer of high-performance mobile electronics, today announced that it is shipping the CDA-7878 CD Receiver/CD Changer Controller with MP3, CDR/RW playback features and Digital Harmonics Enhancer (DHE) technology.

The CDA-7878 will decode MP3 files stored on a CDR disc. The exclusive DHE system uses digital processing to analyze and enhance harmonic element in order to emphasize different parts of the music. The CDA-7878 has been built upon proven Alpine technology and components including Versatile-Link and Bass Engine(TM). Versatile-Link enables the head unit to deliver high quality sound from both audio and video sources such as portable audio devices, MP3 players, VHS players, TV tuners and video games. The Bass Engine Pro(TM)- equipped head unit, provides total system sound control and head unit- controlled bass management through Bass Engine technology.

Bass Engine Pro gives the user digital sound processing functions including time delay, 7-band graphic equalizer and six position Digital HP/LP crossovers. With subwoofer level control and subwoofer phase selection, the CDA-7878 offers the most sound personalization and system control.

This XM Satellite Radio ready head unit is loaded with a 45W x 4 MOSFET amplifier and a MaxTune SQ tuner. The CDA-7878 comes with a multicolor display with spectrum analyzer, blackout display function and CD text display. It incorporates the same high-precision CD mechanism found in the flagship AlpineF#1Status(TM) CD player and comes with a regulated 1-Bit DAC, 4V pre-out (DC-DC) and three pre-outs.

The CDA-7878 has a suggested retail price of $850, and is available through authorized Alpine dealers.
