ADS Tech Launches Video To Go Family
This week California-based ADS Tech (www.adstech.com) begins shipping the new DVD Xpress DX2, a USB audio/video capture device to convert content that people can take with them on almost any device. The unit is the first of what the company says will be a family of products that will let you enjoy high-quality video on your Sony PSP, Apple iPod or other portable video player as well as at home on your PC or DVD player.
The only hardware-based iPod video and PSP format capture device on the market, the DVD Xpress DX2 makes it easy to capture, convert, enjoy and share videos, TV shows or sporting events like the soccer world championships or Torino Olympics anytime and anywhere. If you want to capture and enjoy the events at home, the unit also produces superior theater and DVD quality sights and sounds.
With a suggested retail price of $190, the new capture device connects to your PC’s USB port to transfer video and audio signals and automatically convert the material to MPEG –1, -2, -4 or DivX files for storage and playback on almost any device.
The unit uses the latest in video conversion and filtering technology as well as a 10-bit video digitizer and 4-line comb filter to enhance your viewing. It also lets you control video brightness, contrast, chroma, saturation and hue. The DVD Xpress DX2 also includes unique “Audio-Lock” technology to ensure perfect lip synch.
Best Stuff also learned that by the end of this month, ADS Tech will launch a totally new Instant TV product line that incorporates their new MediaTV tuner/PVR software. The new software allows you to record TV or other video using any of the ADS Tech TV tuner devices and covert the video content to iPod and PSP formats for enjoyment on the go.
Available as a PCI card for installation in your PC, USB plug-and-play external device or notebook card slot solution; the Instant TV products start at just $59 and include Titan TV electronic program guide (EPG) for scheduling and recording of cable, satellite and off-the-air TV broadcasts for later viewing.
ADS Tech’s new MediaTV software allows you to capture and store both video and image files and convert them to the preferred video format for TV viewing, DivX storage or moving the files to today’s popular mobile entertainment devices.
Company officials note that people who purchase one of the current Instant TV products will be able to register at www.adstech.com and download and use the new MediaTV software at no cost.
