ADS Tech Enhances Instant TV Deluxe TV Tuner

April 25, 2005 – ADS Tech announced today that it is now bundling Instant TV Deluxe TV tuner/video capture devices with Orb Networks’ innovative streaming media software. With Orb’s software and service, ADS Tech TV Tuner customers have the ultimate in content distribution flexibility and convenience. They can now enjoy live TV and all of their recorded home digital entertainment from anywhere they have an Internet connection and a web-enabled mobile phone, PDA, laptop or PC.

Available as external USB-connected devices and PCI add-in cards, ADS Tech Instant TV Deluxe TV Tuner products allow Windows users to view and record live TV shows on their home computer. By combining one of these TV tuners with a Windows XP or Windows XP Media Center Edition home computer and the Orb streaming media service, users can safely access and manage their home content whenever and wherever they want. When accessing their home PC from their mobile device, the connection is secured in both directions using proprietary security algorithms and 128-bit encryption.

With remote access to the content stored on their home PC, ADS Tech customers can now expand their entertainment options when they are away from home to include:

• Watching live and recorded TV shows and sporting events
• Scheduling TV recordings remotely
• Viewing home videos
• Listening to favorite songs and Internet radio programs
• Sharing photos or sending photos from their camera phone to their home photo library

Equipped with a robust hardware MPEG encoder, Instant TV Deluxe TV Tuners can be used to record TV shows directly to the user’s PC, no matter how they receive their TV signal (cable TV, digital cable, satellite TV, standard TV, even from a set top DVB-T receiver).

Instant TV Deluxe USB also includes a remote control and a comprehensive software suite. Using the integrated program guide that SnapStream Beyond TV 3.5 with SmartSkip provides, consumers can easily schedule and record favorite TV shows. The application also enhances TV viewing by allowing users to pause live TV, skip ahead 30 seconds, use instant replay and rewind/fast forward at 60x speed. Consumers who want an easy way to capture, edit and create DVD videos and photo slide shows will enjoy the Arcsoft Showbiz that is bundled with the Tuner. For an even easier DVD movie-making experience, Arcsoft QuickDVD is included. To complete the application package, Instant TV Deluxe USB features ADS Tech ‘s popular CapWiz 3.5 which provides video previews at full resolution and enables users to burn video directly to a VCD, SVCD or DVD disc with just four easy clicks.

The 125-channel Instant TV Deluxe TV Tuners have been tested and qualified to display ADS Tech’s me² (Media Entertainment Evolution) logo. With me² products, consumers have the assurance that the device they use to capture, edit and burn audio and video files on their PC will work with other products displaying the me² logo. In addition, the entertainment files they create and store on their PC can also be played back on TVs or stereos throughout the home when connected to an ADS Tech Media-Link Digital Entertainment Receiver.

Instant TV Deluxe USB is available through ADS Tech’s network of online and retail channels worldwide with estimated street price of US$199. In addition to Orb’s streaming media software, the USB version comes with a remote control, IR Blaster, Audio/Video and USB cables, a CD containing ADS Tech’s popular CapWiz 3.5 software, SnapStream Beyond TVBasic, ArcSoft QuickDVD, ArcSoft ShowBiz DVD 2, a Windows Media 9 Encoder and a comprehensive user manual.
