There is another Internet clock radio hitting the marketplace, the chumby one. It is similar to the original chumby device (now known as the "chumby classic"), with content available from more than 1,500 applications such as Pandora Radio, The Weather Channel, MTV, CBS and The New York Times. However, the chumby one has a few new features. It has an ABS plastic casing rather than leather, a battery option (using a standard rechargeable lithium ion battery), an FM radio tuner, and a volume knob.

SANYO has two new audio systems for your iPod, the DMP-P1 Cube Alarm Clock Radio with an iPod docking station, and the DMP-692 Dual Dock Music System.

Boston Acoustics' new Duo-i plus AM/FM Stereo Radio with iPhone/iPod Connectivity is an enhanced version of their Duo-i. The new "plus" model has all the features of the Duo-i, but has a high-gloss black or high-gloss white finish with matching metal grilles. It will be available in October 2009 for $249.99.

The Duo-i plus includes a remote to control the music on your iPod/iPhone when it is connected to the dock. I absolutely hate, in my half asleep state, to fumble for the button to turn the alarm clock off. Granted, this doesn't happen very much. I am one of those that always wakes up before my alarm clock goes off. But, when I do hear that high screaming tone, I sometimes want to scream at it myself. And guess what? Now I can with Neutrano's iTalk alarm clock.

With the iTalk, you set the time, alarm, tell it to snooze and even ask what the date is…all by just talking to it (in English only). It uses TimeSet Voice technology, so no training is needed for the iTalk to understand your voice. The company says that iTalk is "speaker independent", meaning it understands any English voice spoken in your normal voice. The new generation TimeSet voice technology is said to be applied to some home appliances such as coffeemakers and microwaves in the near future.

The iTalk will be available in June at Amazon.com, and will be available this fall at various retailers. The MSRP is $49.99.
